Loving Life

It's been awhile since I've checked in with everyone. Life has been VERY hectic the last couple months. I had a slight complication with the pregnancy, my hips separated, making everything VERY painful. And, I have the drug tolerance of a 500 lb. man, so, all the vicodin and percocets I was given did nothing to help. Then a couple weeks later, I was induced and had our second child, Anneliese Mae, on Friday, April 23rd at 12:04PM. She weighed 6 lbs. and 1 oz. and 19 inches long. She looks JUST like her father.
A little over 3 weeks after she was born John got home from Afghanistan. So, over the past couple weeks we've both been re-adjusting to being a family again. I've noticed I've become quite the control freak. Luckily, he always lets me drive, since I am a bad back seat driver. But, when it comes to cooking, I am a kitchen nazi. Even this morning we were laughing because I would ask a question about what he was doing or make a suggestion on how to do it differently. And of course when he was making fun of me by asking me little things like if he was cutting the french bread correctly for french toast, I was too tired to get it for a good couple moments. Ha.
On a side note, having a second baby is more exhausting than when you just had your first baby. I am beginning to think this zombie mode I'm operating at will never end. I'm starting to get Annie used to sleeping in her crib, so, it's been a lot of sleepless nights trying to get her to fall asleep on her own. It shouldn't take more than a couple more nights, but, I'm wondering if I can handle a couple more nights at this point! Yesterday I went back to sleep once John woke up with the girls, and I ended up sleeping till noon. I can't remember the last time I was able to sleep in that late. Not only because I feel like I'm wasting my day, but sleeping in the daylight has never been very easy for me. So, I guess that really proves just how exhausted I was. Plus, I have come down with a cold this past week, so, I've been trying to fight that while playing mom and wife. Which has resulted in my house taking the backseat. I have folded laundry sitting on the couch, more clean laundry piled in 2 laundry baskets, another pile of dirty laundry sitting on the floor of the laundry room, dishes in the sink, and Tori's things scattered across the house. I need to just designate an hour or two and pick things up and put them away and my house will look a lot better. But, being a new mom (for the second time) means having an "extra" hour of peace and quiet is rare, and usually used to take a shower. Sometimes, if I'm lucky (or maybe if John is lucky), I get to shave my legs too! Ha.
Anyway, that's all I have time for! Big surprise. ;)
