For my husband

My husband pointed out the other day that while my posts aren't completely negative, they aren't exactly positive either. So, I showed him some pictures I had taken earlier that day. He decided to just keep quiet. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids, but, they are kids, and a handful.

10 Things no one tells you about kid #2

  1. Adding a second child is like adding 5 children to your family dynamic.
  2. Sleep is not over-rated. It is in fact, under-rated.
  3. Wine will become your best friend (along with your breast pump. Feel free to name it).
  4. Loosing the baby weight is not as easy as it was before. In fact, it is completely opposite. You will actually need to go to the gym and try to get it off. Good luck finding free time.
  5. You will be the parent in the store with the screaming children, but, instead of looking guilty and hoping they quiet down, you may be screaming with them. Maybe if you yell loud enough, someone will come to your rescue.
  6. Polygamy ALMOST sounds like a good idea. Who couldn't use another woman to help you clean up?!
  7. Any extra money you one had is gone. Especially with 2 kids in diapers.
  8. Speaking of diapers, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT make the mistake of counting how many you will change in 1 day with more than 1 child.
  9. Laundry will double, your time to complete it will not.
  10. And finally, cartoons to entertain the first child become invaluable. Keep many on hands at all times, and be prepared to get their songs stuck in your head. Feel free to sing them in the grocery store during your meltdown. It may help.
